Cassini Equinox Mission

After discussion in class and due to student demand here is more information concerning the Cassini Mission to Saturn. For those of you that are unfamiliar with the mission you can find out more by watching this brief overview video:

There is much more information as well over on the official site with images, videos and virtual tours.

You can visit the fantastic Cassini Equinox Mission Site Here:

Finally, a surprise video of Arthur C Clarke, here talking about the Cassini mission.

There is also mention of 2001 A Space Odyssey, for those of you who have studied the book with us or for those who are fans of the film.

Will the Cassini Mission discover anything else? Is it possible for some form of life to exist in space far from Earth? Maybe a primitive form of life might be found on one of these moons of Saturn? Or are conditions too inhospitable.
So what do you think? Let us know! ;)

On the topic of water being found on other planets and Moons, here is another news report from our own Moon -

'Large amounts' of water on Moon.

Make sure to watch the video at the end when the spacecraft crashed into the surface of the Moon.
