Mike deGruy: Hooked by an octopus

A great TED talk with Underwater filmmaker Mike deGruy. Mike has spent decades looking intimately at the ocean. A consummate storyteller, he takes the stage at Mission Blue to share his awe and excitement -- and his fears -- about the blue heart of our planet.

What a wonderful and uplifting speech that not only gives you an insight of the wonders that lie deep within the ocean, but also how powerful our planet is and no matter what we do or how badly we pollute it, it has the power to self-heal. I also liked the part where he mentioned about the power that lies within each and every individual and how one person can bring about changes that can slowly have an effect on everyone. This is so true and I get it a lot from friends and people who always say ‘but I’m just one person, what can I do’, but they just need to realize that in order for the world to change they must first look in the mirror and become that change.
